Bio Sketch
Dr. Qazi Naveed Ahmed is from the Jammu and Kashmir region (a northern state of India) and was born in Kishtwar in 1978. He obtained his Ph.D. from Kashmir University under the combined supervision of Dr. H. M. Sampath Kumar and Prof. M. A. Qureshi at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine.He completed hisPost-Doctorial fellowship from University of Paris Sud-XI (France) under CNRS program (Aug 2008-2009) in the group of Prof. David Bonnaffe (Head, Glycochemistry Division). In 2012, he obtained a scientific position in IIIM Jammu and currently he is serving as Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry Division. Dr. Qazi also served as Assistant Professor in Higher education department (March 2010 to Dec 2012). His current researchinterests are medicinal chemistry and applications of functional group driven synthetic methodologies across glycochemistry, bio-conjugation/bioorthogonal chemistry and late stage modification of bioactives.

Notable Contributions
- Developed different 2-oxo-driven unconventional reactions (Complete book published by Elsevier, 1st Edition, 2021).
- Introduced Oxo-Phenylacetyl (OPAc) as new Protecting Group for Carbohydrates
- Discovered novel amino acid containing imidazole molecule (IIIM-152) in combination with paclitaxel as a potent Pre-IND lead against drug resistant triple negative breast cancer.
- Delivered 5 different secondary metabolites (at gram scale) to National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL). These metabolites are currently in use by World Anti-Doping Agency (one patent also submitted from this project).
- Developed a new S-P Bond Forming Bio-orthogonal Functionalization
- Developed new patentable potent patentable analogues of
