Bio Sketch
Microbiologist & Fermentation Scientist with more than 16 years of experience (post PhD) in applied research, technology development & transfer in Industrial Microbiology, Biotechnology, Fermentation and Microbial Biotechnology. Dr. Saran is an expert in process engineering, production, and scale-up of Industrial Enzymes, Biochemicals and Biofuels. With deep expertise in microbial strain engineering and process development, he has successfully scaled fermentation processes from 5 L to 500 L across batch, fed-batch and continuous fermentation systems. His proficiency extends to both upstream and downstream processing, optimizing industrially significant biomolecules for diverse applications. To his credentials, he has 9 patents, edited 03 books and more than 60 publications in peer reviewed international journals. He has been awarded by “Industry Medal Award” by Biotech research Society of India (BRSI) and the “Biotechnology Research Excellence Award” by the Society of Life Sciences India (SLS) , India.
Dr Saran is also having 12 years of experience working with startups, entrepreneurs, technology development and transfer, Dr. Saran has an extensive array of knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development. As the Head of Incubator i.e Atal Incubation Centre (AIC), Srinagar & BioNEST Incubation Centre, Jammu, he leads a dynamic team of more than twelve professionals, driving innovation, fostering entrepreneurial growth, and facilitating the successful transition of technologies from concept to commercialization.
