Mr.Vikas C Roy has experience of more than a decade in the area of Analytical Research and Development. He has worked with Jubilant Life Sciences R&D Noida, NIPER Mohali, PBTI Mohali, and Dabur Research and Development Centre Ghaziabad. He joined CSIR-IIIM Jammu in May 2022.
He is an expert in method development and validation for Antibiotic drug residues, Pesticide residues, Polyaromatic hydrocarbons, Polychlorinated biphenyls, Amino acids, dyes and Mycotoxins using sophisticated analytical techniques like LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, HRMS, HPLC, etc. in various matrices as per the regulatory guidelines. His core expertise is in honey quality, Safety, adulteration, and, authenticity testing.
He has worked as a resource person for the Training of Trainers (ToT) program on the Analysis of Veterinary Drug Residues, including Antibiotics jointly organized by FSSAI and PBTI Mohali.
He has successfully completed training on “Analysis of Doping Substances in food supplements”, Online Training on Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/808 Programme, and has also undergone specialized operations and application-related training on Sophisticated analytical instruments like LC-MS/MS, and EA & LC-IRMS in India and abroad.

Area of Expertise
- Analytical method development, validation/ verification using chromatography and chromatography with mass-based sophisticated instruments as per the EU, ICH guidelines.
- Quantification of Veterinary drug residues including Antibiotics, Pesticide residues, and Specific Marker Rice, etc in Honey.
- C3 & C4 Sugar analysis in Honey, Jam, Milk modifiers, and Juices using EA & LC-IRMS.
- Pesticides residue, and Mycotoxins (Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2, M1, Ochratoxins) in various matrices like Rice, Ayurvedic drugs, Flour and Milk and milk products.
- Analysis of PAH, PCBs, Pesticides, Cation and Anion, Mineral oils, etc in Packaged Drinking/Natural mineral Water/Ground Water, etc as per IS.
- Acrylamide and Sudan dyes estimation in food products like biscuits, ready-to-eat vegetables, etc.
- Fatty acid profiling and cholesterol in oils and fats.
- Preparation and review of specifications, standard test procedures, Standard operating procedures, method validation protocols, and reports as per required regulatory guidelines.
