The mega event, first of its kind in Jammu which was inaugurated by the Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (I/C) for Science and Technology, Minister of State (I/C) of Earth Sciences, Minister of State in the PMO, Ministry of Personnel, Pensions, Public Grievances & DoAE, Department of Space and Vice President, CSIR, attracted a huge crowd of entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, scientists, researchers, bio-incubators, manufacturers, regulators and members of civil society on the second day.

On the second day today overwhelming response of visitors has been seen as a total of over 700 visitors comprising of students, colleges, progressive farmers, entrepreneurs and the general public have visited the exhibition and witnessed the demonstration of innovations driven ideas some startups and the products and technologies developed by few of them.

In this Startup Expo, a total of more than fifty StartUps participated of which at least 6 were from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and rest were from all departments of Union Ministries of Science & Technology and earth Sciences. The innovation areas of these StartUps ranged from flavoured natural honey, aromatic plant products, mushroom cultivation, biogas & bio-fertilizers, to artificial intelligence based software for health industry and even space technologies.
Pertinently, the mega exhibition was organised under the theme Startup Expo Jammu which was also attended by Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament, Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General, CSIR and Secretary, DSIR, Govt of India, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Dr. Narahari Sastry, Director, CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, Dr. D.
