Diagnostic testing is the hallmark to track community transmission of virus and prevent its transmission. In response to the Covid19 pandemic, CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu has built the covid19 testing facility at Clinical Microbiology and has been testing clinical samples since 6th April, 2020. 53,091 samples have been tested since 6th April, 2020. Standard Operating procedures for detection of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in human clinical samples from ICMR-National Institute of Virology (ICMR-NIV), Pune are being followed for RNA Extraction and RT-PCR (First line screening assay and Confirmatory assay).
