Bio Sketch

Rajinder Kumar serves as a Principal Technical Officer  in Biotechnology Division of CSIR-IIIM Jammu. Born and brought up in a small village Gurha Pattan near Akhnoor, Jammu. After a Bachelors of Science from GGM Science College, Jammu, he completed a Masters degree in Physics from Jammu University.

Mr Kumar started his career as a Project Manager in a Department of Science and Technology (AICPS project) from 1989-1990 at Distt. Una in Himachal Pradesh. Later in November 1990, he joined IIIM (earlier known as RRL) Jammu as a Junior Technical Assistant. After successive promotions he is at present working as a Principal Technical Officer

He has expertise in DNA Sequencing & its analysis and contributed in submission of around two hundred sequences in NCBI and five papers in reputed journals.

Lyophilisation of various cultures is one of his finesse. He is entrusted with the operation and maintenance of various sophisticated instruments like DNA Sequencer, Freeze dryers, FPLC system, Spectrophotometer, Electroporation, PCRs, Sonicator, Centrifuges, Incubators, Electrophoresis power supplies and many more.

For his meritorious 25 years of service in IIIM Jammu, he was felicitated by CSIR in year 2016. He has a keen interest in working with different cosmopolitan instruments.
