Dr. Varun Pratap Singh is a Senior Technical Officer-III and Assistant Professor at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, the constituent laboratory of CSIR, India. He holds PhD in Chemistry on “Isolation and Synthesis of Small Peptide of Microbial Origin and Lead Optimization of Bioactive Peptide” from SMVDU, Katra while working in Medicinal Chemistry Division at CSIR-IIIM Jammu, India under the supervision of Dr. Ram A Vishwakarma, former Director, CSIR-IIIM Jammu, India.
He holds Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from M. J. P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly and a M. Tech. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from VIT University, Vellore. He has more than 10 years of research experience and he has worked in various pharmaceutical R&D/production laboratories including CIPLA Ltd., Gennova Biophramaceuticals Ltd., Unichem Labs, apart from his research endeavour in the Medicinal Chemistry Division at CSIR-IIIM Jammu. Prior to joining CSIR-IIIM as Senoir Technical Officer-III, he worked as Sr. Expert at R&D department of OmniActive Health Technologies Ltd.
His research interest broadly includes peptide natural products with emphasis on isolation, characterization, synthesis and their medicinal chemistry aspects.
