| Remarks: An annual grass 1 to 2 ft. high, erect or ascending in robust tufts, branching at the base, very glabrous, swollwn just below the inflorescence; branches often 2-nate. Leaf blades soft, flat linear or almost lanceolate, narrow and rounded at the base. Margins very rough, nerves slender; sheath lax; auricles at the throat passing into a ligule, compressed, keeled at the top, very glabrous, and smooth or scaberulous; margins ciliolate. |
