Discovery and development of bioactive natural products mainly from plant source, enhancement of the prospect of plant secondary metabolites for their commercialization through isolation, analogues preparation and their value addition. Bio-prospection of medicinal as well as chemically or/and pharmacologically unexplored/less explored high altitude/medicinal plants mainly from the western Himalaya regions along with cold/hot desert plants. Chemical characterization of secondary metabolites through spectroscopic especially 2D NMR techniques.

Structural modification of natural products to carry out structure activity relationship (SAR) for pharmacological activities i.e. Anti-cancer, Anti-infective, Immunosuppressive, efflux pumps inhibitors and anti-oxidant etc. Dereplication of Natural products using analytical (spectroscopic, chromatographic) and modern hyphenated techniques. Further development of new and environmental friendly methodology for organic molecules and industrial process chemistry as well as synthesis of novel bioactive scaffold.
