Dr. S.G. Agarwal, Dr. R.K. Thappa, Dr. Prabhu Dutt and
Dr. B.L. Koul.
National Horticulture Board Award: IIIM bagged cash
award from National Horticulture Board, Government of
India, Jammu, for the development and effective transfer
of technology of geraniol rich variety of Cymbopogon nardus
var. confertiflorus Code named as IIIM-CN-5
VASVIK Industrial Research Award: Vividhlaxi Audyogik
Samshodhan Vikas Kendra, Mumbai conferred VASVIK Industrial
Research Award for the year 2000 to Dr. G. N. Qazi, Ex-Director
for his contributions in the area of fermentation technology.
CSIR Technology Award: CSIR Technology Award for
the year 2001 for its outstanding work on the Production
of Gluconate salts using Fermentation Technology was bagged
by IIIM, Jammu.Dr(s) G.N.Qazi, Rajender Parshad, S/Shri
K.S.Manhas, R.M.Gupta, M.S.Kapoor and C.L.Tikoo
received the Award from the Minister of State for Science &
Technology on National Technology Day in New Delhi.
Best Industrial Invention Award: IIIM, Jammu has
bagged Best Invention 2nd Prize for its technology entitled,
Fermentation Technology for the production of various
Gluconate salts during 64th All India Industrial Exhibition
organised by The Exhibition Society of India, held from
1-15th January, 2004 at Hyderabad.
National Horticulture Board Award was given to
IIIM scientists for the development of Cymobopagon narness
variety IIIM-CN-5 rich in geraniol in the year 2002 Dr.
Surech Chandra, Dr. A.K. Shahi, Dr. S.N. Sharma and Dr.
Prabhu Dutt.
Scientist of the Year 2008 was awarded by the Essential
Oil Association of India to Dr. Suresh Chandra, Dr. A.K.
Shahi, Dr. M.K. Koul, Dr. Rekha Sapru, Dr. S.S. Balyan,
Dr. S.G. Agarwal and Dr. R.K. Raina for the development
of Mentha longifolia rich in l-carvone and its
transfer to the field.
Dr. Shashank K. Singh has been awarded the Indo-US
Research Fellowship for the Year 2009 for conducting
advance research in the area of Life Sciences for duration
of 12 months at the Ohio State University, USA.
Dr. A.K. Saxena, Scientist-F, IIIM Jammu has been elected
as the Member of the Executive Committee of the
Indian Association for Cancer Research (IACR) for the
term 2009 -2012.
Dr. Dhiraj K. Vyas has been awarded the BOYSCAST Fellowship by the Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi and
is working in the University of Florida (2009).
Dr. Fayaz Malik has been selected for prestigious CSIR Young Scientist Award 2009 in Biological
